2017 RubygatesPS World Book Day

2017 RubygatesPS World Book Day

We promised that our pupils will start to read earlier than is the common experience of parents. And by the Grace of God, we delivered, as was demonstrated to parents during our school’s commemoration of this year’s World Book Day. The younger children showed in their reading that they had been given tools to produce words from the sounds of alphabets while the older ones read more fluently than they could have been expected using those same tools. They showed that they were not reading from memory, but were actually piecing together what they were looking at. RubygatesPS delivers true to purpose classroom instruction. We had in attendance Dr. V.O Adeniyi of the Department of Dramatic Arts, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, who delivered the key not address: The Reading Culture-Impacts on a Society That No Longer Reads. We couldn’t have done without the participation of our parents in the Rubygates Reading Campaign Thank you everyone.
