One of our Core Values at Rubygates Preparatory School is the belief in the power of books. It is a deep seated conviction in us that the power to read and the love of reading are the first and most veritable tools for mental, spiritual and social freedom. They also are the engines that produce intelligence in any child who is aware of expectations of glory reposed in him or her by the parents. We believe that in addition to God’s grace, and the divine deposits in a child’s brain, inculcating in the child early the power and love for reading are the next vital moulds that will make the child into the adult he or she is destined to be. As the children in our care begin to grow in age and number, parents should be aware that their role in achieving this also begins to acquire an urgency. We are your partners in making leaders out of your children. All leaders may not be readers, but we are convinced that every reader is a leader, will become a leader. Welcome, therefore, to the Commencement of the Rubygates Preparatory School’s Reading Campaign. It is a robust programme that will be unveiled in bite sized increments until it begins to culminate in huge exploits and benefits to you, your children in our care and us.
